ESPN Max & Pace

Anybody have a good explanation of how the Max & Pace section of the ESPN pools work?

It looks to me like the predictions are way off.

Max and pace can be found at one of the tools under "My Team" in ESPN pools

Dude, standard league eh? I'm in a custom league...wonder what the exact diff is...you have a picture and story on front page while only our commisioner can do that on ours. Also, max and pace is not found in custom. Do you pay for you league? were you able to have it PRIVATE? I know you have it open but maybe standard is the reason.

i'm not in any ESPN leagues but i checked out your team and the Max/pace stuff.

while i might think the projections or pace they have you set out to my be a bit off you are on pace to run out of games before the end of the year.

Prior to todays games teams in the NHL have an average or 31 games left
you have currently used (i will ignore goalies in this)

489 F games
267 D games
59 U games

even if you don't sub in any of your bench players for the rest of the year (so you set a lineup of 9F, 5D, 1U and stick with it until an injury or a slump for a payer) your games total will be

F - 9 spots x 31 average games per player = 279 games
D - 5 spots x 31 average games per player = 155 games
U - 1 spots x 31 average games per player = 31 games

the max in your league is 82 per spot

F - 738
D - 410
U - 82

if you take the games you have already played and add the projected games you get the number of games you will have played at the end of the year without subbing in players

F - 768
D - 422
U - 90

as you can see each pos is higher than the max

F - Max 738, projection 738 you are +30
D - Max 410, projection 422 you are +12
G - Max 82, projection 90 you are +8

so to make it so you can play games up until the last day of the year you will have to sit players until you get it more under control. At your current pace you won't be allowed to play anyone for the last few days of the regular season which could allow teams to catch you.
