    Default JVR or Giroux

Who would you rather long term?

This is a follow-up on my attempt to get the potential 1st overall pick next year to get Hall (on a thread earlier)

I inquired about getting his 1st rounder and he wanted this:

MY: 1st rounder in 2010 (likely in the 8-10 overall range)
    Giroux OR JVR

HIS: 1st rounder in 2010 (likely 1st overall - Taylor Hall)

Obviously I wont do the deal until closer to the deadline to make sure I'll get the #1. At first I thought not a chance to this offer, but I took a closer look at my team and realized that in order for me to keep Hemsky (currently on my IR) I'm going to have to move somebody or drop somebody later in the year

    make sense to everyone?

I would probably package Giroux, Hemsky and that first round pick of yours for Patrick Kane and call it a good day.

Simply, I'd rather have JVR over Giroux. Fortunately, I have both. Ha ha!

I definately think that JVR has a higher ceiling, and I think he will hit it. Bam!

In the 07' draft, 2nd only to Patty Kane? Pretty good company in my books.

Is Giroux a slouch? Nope. I do see him capping out at around PPG.

No thanks, our 1st rounders are pretty valuable, since its not a very deep league most of the best prospects are still on the wire, even last years. Next season were expandind the league to have 8 more bench spots so we can store more prospects.

Here's the problem with you saying no thanks to Shoeless's suggestion.

You are close to competing hard for the next three years... how much are you going to build with that first? Giroux will never hit Kane's production and hemsky is always injured it seems or disappoints.

Taylor Hall won't produce steady for two years I say. So getting Kane and adding him to Perry is clutch.

Yes, but the team with Kane is also a contender and I know he isnt going to trade him as I inquired about him earlier in the season.

I have to disagree about the "not producing for 2 years" though, everyone has said that about Stamkos, Tavares, etc, and the people who took a chance on them are reaping the rewards now, even Stamkos popped in 26 goals after a slow start.

Fact is that the #1 picks (I assume Hall is #1) over the last decade have all turned out to be studs, of course the trend will end sometime, but watching Hall play I'd argue that he is better than Stamkos.

If Giroux is all I have to give up for him really I think it would be well worth it
