    Default "Gonchar hobbled"

Sergei Gonchar was hobbled after taking a shot off his foot Wednesday.
Gonchar will see a doctor today to determine whether it's a broken bone or just a bruise. Stay tuned.
    Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

    Any other news on this??

Maybe it was just a bruised ego after getting shut down by the Devils again?

He finished the game and the injury didn´t handicaped him, so i don´t expect it to be serious!

Unfortunately, finishing the game means very little. From a Gionta owner (and D. Sedin owners recall as well) who not only saw him finish the game, he actually went on to play about 4 more before the swelling went down enough and the x rays were able to determine the break.

This is pure speculation only, but man, there seem to be a lot of broken foots from blocked shots this season.

    Good luck Gonchar owners!

Let me speculate here. So if he was at practice skating that is a good thing - it suggests the swelling has gone down enough to determine there is no break. With all the recent evidence (D. Sedin, Gionta) that skating/playing on a bruised foot can aggravate a break I can't believe the Pens would let him on the ice - unless the swelling has gone down and they can tell there is no break.

I am a Gonchar owner so let me hope....now on to a thread on Visnovsky so I can spout more unfounded speculation.

Well I was actually at the Prudential Center on Wednesday night when he hurt his foot.

He limped off to the bench, was bent over in pain on the bench, then during the next stoppage came out to test it.

He returned to play in the game but looked very much in pain while doing so. Considering he returned, I thought he was ok. Guess not.
