I would pick up Rask 1st as he looked good last game out and Thomas has been struggling a bit.
Then Niemi if you were desparate.
Hey all,
I've been reeling along with alot of other GM's with Price's performance this season. He was one of my G keepers from last year, and I still believe that over the long term he will be a valuable payer for me in the future. HOWEVER, for the present, I think we're all in agreement that he is not helping fantasy teams :P That being the case, I'm looking to pick up another G from the WW to help try and supplement my team for the present with Price not performing. (and Ellis being my other... yea... he's a fun one too :P)
Our WW is a little thin as we have a 14 team league with 3 G spots/team. But am looking to pick up someone who may or may not play ~20-40 and be able to get some quality out of them too :P Of the list of relevent free agents, I think the two I'm leaning towards are either Rask or JDD. They're both young, and could potentially create a positive keeper situation for me at the end of this season as well.
Antti Niemi
Tuukka Rask
Jeff Deslauriers
Thomas Greiss
Brent Johnson
Stephen Valiquette
Yann Danis
Jason LaBarbera
Johan Hedberg
If anyone of you did have thoughts on this though, I'd greatly appreciate input.

Rask would be my top choice, with Niemi my second.
Julien has said that Rask will get 25+ starts this season; add in that Boston is a pretty solid team and you'll get some quality starts from him.
Niemi has played very well so far this season, and while Huet has been very good as of late its not a secret that Quenville isn't his biggest supporter. Niemi will get his chances, and again will get quality starts as Chicago also is a very good team.
The rest ofthe guys on your list either get spot starts or play for weaker teams or both; not anything that you's be wanting to dress in your line-up.
just my $.02
on fantasy hockey hiatus!!!
Thanks for the input. I hadn't considered Niemi due to Huet picking up his game again, but I guess he does still warrant a look. No Love for JDD playing behind a sub-par khabibulin?
And I guess this is more for my peice of mind. Dropping for ellis for Rask... or one of these is a sound move?

Yeah, Ellis is no different than what is on your wire; he'd be my choice to drop for Rask.

JDD might have a play yet but the clear cut choice is Rask.
