"Edit Roster" Question on Yahoo Pools

Hey guys.

First time using Yahoo Pools for our keeper pool that operates on monthly changes. Since Yahoo only offers weekly changes at best, I figured to lock all teams and "Edit Roster" as commissioner at the beginning of the month.

Logically, I'm thinking that the previous months 'active' roster would accrue points, and the next months 'active' roster post-manual-changes would continue to accrue points.

However, I read this statement in the "Edit Roster" panel.

Instructions:
By using the selections on the left you can edit any team's roster for the upcoming day. You can add players, drop players or edit lineups.

These changes will alter the lineup for the following day. If you add or drop a player any prior changes to future lineups will be overwritten (i.e. if today is Oct 10, 2004 and you add or drop a player, any prior changes to lineups after Oct 11, 2004 will be lost).

Does that mean that any previous changes I made manually to all the rosters will be ineffective, and each month the new roster retroactively totals the points?

Also, do "Util" players count to the point total?
