    Default trading away malkin

I had wanted to start drafting solid LWs but got 2nd pick.....and almost everybody would have picked up who i got, malkin.

I as a habit too, picked up more C's, Ribeiro, Stastny, McDonald, Horton(rw too)

I have D. Sedin, Morrow and Kariya on my LW but I hate Sedin, I dont know why but I want nash/kovy/heatley/parise type LW...a snipper

What should I expect if I trade away Malkin, straight up for one of these 4? an additional d, or a 3rd option centre along with one?

Or am I just being stupid and Sedin is a great LW

one year roto league standard yahoo stats too. THanks!

I love Sedin he's probably one of the most under rated players in fantasy hockey. Yes he won't give you mind boggling numbers, but he's as consistent as they come...

Look at his recent 3 year averages:

    32 G, 48 A, +16, 40 PIMs, 30 PPP

    Compare that to Nash:
    35 G, 33 A, +1, 73 PIMs, 21 PPP
You're really only losing out on 2 categories, which is 3 G and 33 PIMs... nothing too special to be honest.

    Compared to Kovo:
    45 G, 39 A, -8, 56 PIMs, 32 PPP
So really you're losing out 12 G, 16 PIMs and 2 PPP, once again nothing too dramatic to worry about.

Parise really only had 1 good year and Heater is Heater...

So really you're willing to give up a potential Art Ross winner just to get a slight upgrade on Sedin???

I'd pass and stick with Sedin you'll be fine especially with Malkin backing him up in the center position.

Fair enough, I needed a reality check on Sedin I guess. Kovy and Heatley were my two targets using Malkin

I had an offer for Datsyuk for D. Sedin and would take that to flip Datsyuk for a better LW but maybe I'll stay put haha.

    Thanks

Daniel Sedin = consistency as mentioned above, he's probably a top 5 LW option in fantasy hockey. Very underrated and usually drops a bit in drafts. I'm not a fan personally, just because the Canucks are in the same division as the Avs, but would love to own the guy, because you always know what you're going to get. He may not be a 50 G scorer but he'll pot 35 and throw in 50 assists to the mix.

It could always be worse... you could have his brother Henrik instead :P

I forgot to add, if you want to upgrade your wings, look for Stastny to start out hot, he usually does, and than you'll probably be able to move him for some nice assets. I'm a little worried with his injury history, but he should be good for 70 GP this year. Selling high is never a bad thing

That's an interesting trade, but the thing is a high end LW like that is harder to replace than a C... If you go out on the waiver wire you'll probably get a 55-60 point LW back... but you could easily find a 65-70 point C on the WW.

Getting Datsyuk is great, but looking at it I don't think anyone is going to give up Parise/Nash/Kovo/Heater for Datsyuk straight up...

then i would be stuck with datsyuk and malkin....i only need one elite centre if it means my wings are better covered then.

well what about a 2nd tier LW...kos****yn is still on the waiver wire hmm

Vanek for kariya/stastny or morrow/stastny? I could upgrade the C to Ribeiro if that makes the trade happen
