Old school!
dang i did a long ass write up on my team but it took me like all day here and there so when i submitted it, i guess it time out or something..
bottom line...
- i felt i drafted centers too early
- horton was an obviousl mistake
- good amount of sleeper picks IMO
Like someone mentioned earlier, I feel it will come down to whos team is least hit with injuries.

Fantasy Hockey truth: Drafting Horton is always a mistake no matter where you drafted him!
I've made that mistake in typing a response during work and taking too long. You are so happy to finally post and you get timed out. Really sucks
Avoiding injuries is huge in this league
Some good news about Bryz I read today.
Phx D only allowed 14 shot against LA which is a big decrease from 30+ last season. Only one game I know but in a W SO league thats music to my ears

Great posts everyone, love to see what everyone else is thinking throughout the draft... and really looking forward to the Pro draft on Tuesday... should be another dandy!! haha
I'll give it a shot, 11th pick:
1) Kipper - Pumped to not be in the middle of the order, I hate drafting in the middle as I find many of the guys on your queue get snagged. The goalies started going so Kipper fell to me almost by default... a shoe in for 43-45 wins and heck, could flirt with 50... with no GAA or SV% categories this is music to my ears.
2) Thornton - It was either him or Backstrom (WSH), and I was almost going to snag Backstrom until it finally donned on me that Heatley was going to SJ... anything below 100 pts. would be disappointing.
3) Lidstrom - wanted to grab a solid blueliner before the rush occured. Should have another solid year as he only seems to get better as he gets older
4) Phaneuf - I'm a huge believer in a bounce back for Phaneuf... should get back to his 60 pt. ways. Maybe I drank the koolaid a little as I've never in my life drafted 2 D in the first 4 rounds of a draft. Should have grabbed 100 pt. potential guys like E.Staal or Spezza, but didn't want to get bogged down with 2 C right off the bat, what I really wanted was a LW, and had Cammer targeted, hoping he'd get back to me in Rd. 5. Looking back I wish I'd taken Staal or Spezza....
5) Gaborik - Joos snags Cammer 3 picks before me and I go into a small panic and switch wings. Decide on high risk high reward... he's over a ppg player when healthy on a defensive team... so I'm hoping for 70 games and 82 pts. for this season...got harassed in the chat regarding this pick for at least 20 minutes haha
6) Boyes - I'm well aware of my starting RW, and his glass groin, and decide to double up 2 picks later. STL continues to get better and hopefully Boyes enjoys a healthy Karyia opposite his wing which could increase his totals by 6-8% from last season
7) Tanguay - Still no LW heading into rd. 7 not a favourable position to be in ... was hoping Gagne would fall, but was planning on selecting Tanguay and when Gagne went early in the round I had to snatch this guy up. Pts. only league he can just keep on feeding the puck to Vinny for goals. He could/should return to his COL pt. totals and I have him down for 70... with a high chance of hitting 77-82.
8) Huet - Goalies had been getting fairly scarce as I looked through the remaining starters.... I know Huet doesn't ooze confidence but he's on a powerhouse team that should contend for the Western Conference title. No reason why he can't pull out 40 of the team's 50+ wins.. I fought hard not to select Elias to strengthen my LW here as I noticed a couple of teams still didn't have goalies and Bryzgalov, Vokoun, and Huet were the only ones left that I wanted to consider for my 2nd Goalie spot.
9) O'Sully - with 6 picks before mine I have PMB, Giroux, Frolov, and Giroux in my queue.... should be safe right?? Wrong, not in this draft, not with these kinds of GM's... they all get picked off and I'm scrambling for a selection. The final 10 seconds on the clock turn red and freak me out a little so I grab O'Sully, and hope he responds under his new coach... after the first few preseason games, I know it's only preseason, but I'm delighted with my selection.
10) Huselius - this seems to happen to me without really thinking about it... the position with the least star power, or that I select a player for last, ends up being the one I fill up first, sort of hoping to make up for that lack of a fantasy stud?? Maybe Huselius is the new Prospal?? Haha, I'll keep dreaming.
11) Stamkos - People have been scooping up some really nice gems like Briere and Selanne to name a few. Sort of surprised Stamkos is still on the board based on how he finished last year and the way he played at the WHC. Sophmore slump?? Well possibly, but wasn't his freshman slump enough?? :P
12) McCabe - haven't picked a D in a while and wanted to get a third one before all the top PP guys on their respective teams were gone. Should run things in FLA and post 45 pts. I really wanted McDonald here but Gongshow snagged just before my pick. I'm still not impressed!!
13) Sharp - kept looking for this guy under LW's when I was scrolling through yahoo... Finally found him under the C spot and grabbed him. Since Mueller was gone at the end of Rd. 12 there really wasn't anyone else left at RW that I needed to grab urgently. The guy I now had my sights on... Steve Sullivan, is listed as a LW in yahoo (idiots), so I had to go to plan E haha
14) Jovanovski - Hopefully he returns to near 50 pts.... Yeah I know it's a pipe dream, but I was simply looking at guys who gets lots of ice time, and PP time, and well he appealed to me over guys like Goligoski who are on powerhouse teams but won't have the same opportunity. I'll be thrilled with 40 pts.
15) Ju Williams - plan E....boom or bust here. Hopefully his health issues are out of the way... looking over my RW, perhaps I should have a side bet with RR as to who's going to have more games lost due to injury on the RW haha. Overall I'm happy with the draft and all of my positions... a little risky on the RW... but I mean, no risk no reward. Seeing as I was the only one who picked the Hawks to beat the Nucks on the playoff expert panel but got the other 3 series' wrong, I figure Gabby breaks 90 pts. this year, however Ju Williams, B. Boyes, and K. Huselius will combine to play less than 20 games this year haha *knock on wood*
Let the games begin!!

Great read MTM. Looking forward to the Pro draft as well.
Of course, expect a lot more than 20 minutes of shame if/when you select Gaborik there....

Can't knock the mans talent; but you sure can question his conditioniong.
IF he stays healthy all season, that pick may just put you over the top.
