Yeah Puck Nation, I don't think there is a free lunch to be had in these leagues - I think right from the get-go in the draft, it is going to be bloody.
I think the best strategy is to hire a world class computer hacker and get him to feed false information to the other GM's in your league just before the draft. You know, things like Forsberg signs to play with the Sedin's and will be ready by the end of camp. Sean Avery is a lock to center the Rags top line this season, between Gabbie and Prospal. Joe Sakic unretires at the last minute to play with Selanne and Saku in the pond.
Better yet - have that info pop-up on the screen in round 1 of the draft.

great catch, not many people get that reference. i'm in ottawa now, but i was born & raised in suds and spent about 10 years in toronto. too bad we're not in the same league, i've never beat anyone living in korea at a hockey pool...
We are in the same league, Justin - I have the great honor of managing the dummy team in each of the entry leagues to a last place finish - so you will beat someone living in Korea in a hockey pool.
Just think about the bragging rights!
Anyway, you are pretty damn cocky - could you PM Chinny and give him some smack lessons? He's being a bit of a wuss considering it's just days away from the draft. Maybe toss him some of that '****** for Smack Talk' you have. Gotta get the boy up somehow.
BTW - I spent 3 years in high school in Ottawa, but after I finished Grade 9, we moved to Regina.

it will take me awhile to get the smack going as a 3 Peat champion in another 14 team league my record speaks for itself I havent had to work hard for the smack in that league

Like I said previously, I'm glad I am up in the Expert League right now, I wager it won't be long before that's a distant memory.

Yeah I need to talk to Dobber about adding a 4th tier of 8 leagues for next year. We need to be thinking about keeping more of these entry guys in the league system somehow.
I just took Chinny's latest version of the blind bidding tool for a test drive - man, unless he finds an unfixable bug - we are in for a treat compared to last year's system. Like driving a Benz after riding a bicycle.
