" The deal is complicated, but he’ll earn $7 million in each of the first two years, $4.5 million in the third and $1 million in the fourth. Of that total, $8.5 million is in signing bonuses - $3 million in each of the first two years and $2.5 million in the third year.
General manager Bryan Murray said it was a deal the team could live with. The salary-cap hit will be $4.875 million, he said. However, the cap hit will eventually go up when the $2.09-million payment — or some part of it - is factored in and spread over the term of the deal. The league hadn’t yet decided how it would account for the payment. "
