I just have to say that I hate the first few weeks of the season. The guys you just \'know\' are good players are doing nothing (Gaborik, Vanek ...) and goalies are getting blown out of the water (Nabokov, Kipper) and you feel like you made nothing but bad decisions during drafting.

Anyone else find it really hard to keep the finger off the trade/add/drop button during this time?

Yes. It sometimes is hard to be patient and wait for the players to find their groove. I work real hard at trying not to over react.

I have Gaborik and Nabokov... and I share your pain.

It\'s always like that. Last year, I was laughting at a guy in our pool having some Senators players (Heatley and Alfie). Well, he kept them and after december, I was crying... and he won the pool.

Way to early - and keep you finger away from the trade button - selling low is not cool.

I have Vanek, Nabbie, Kipper, Gionta, T Kaberle all playing kinda stinky but damn it is so early. I lucked out because Budaj, Prospal, Bouchard, and Pitkanen (with his one SH, GW goal) have been saving my butt - I\'m leading the league a little tenuous of course - but feel optimistic.

Unfortunately there are several other teams with cool players too - hope mine heat up and theirs don\'t.

Ahh the vagaries of fantasy hockey - gotta love it.

Now is the time to rip into your fellow managers about the players they drafted that you wanted... See if there is anything going on with your players and sell their quick start at a pretty steep price...

Dont worry I\'ve been shopping but the guys in my league are pretty saavy at playing Texas hold\'em.

the only assets I am particularly interested in moving - Bertuzzi and Nagy haven\'t exactly made a statement so far .

I think he is too... But there are other guys out there that will have similar numbers that you could package for an upgrade at another position...

Too much upside in Staal coupled with a perceived value based on last year even though he has it going, makes it difficult to catch the kind of upgrade that would be warranted.

I think it is still a couple of games too early to start the shaking and baking. When a guy starts the season cool for 5-6 games then their owners start to doubt. Guys like Hossa become real vulnerable to a decent offer.

I try to stick to Dobber\'s guide as law through at least November. Last year I traded Bernier (who had a hot start) for St. Louis (2 point in first seven games). It looked like I was getting shafted, but MSL had a great year.

If you are in a H2H league, how is the time to look for the guys drafted in the first five rounds that are really bombing or are injured...Boyle, Schneider, and Havlat may end up on the wire. If you can trade a late round pick (or two late round picks) for one early round pick, you will more often than not reap the benefits in the second half and in your H2H playoffs...when the rosters and scores REALLY matter.
On the Coyote bandwagon since 1996...

I have a few not showing much in particular leagues, that happens. However with Gomez, maybe its just me, but he has looked ok out on the ice, just not getting it done for points. So as long as he is playing well, the points will come. And he has what, Straka and Shanny, not bad linemates there. Plus plum PP time. He\'ll be ok. That said, how many points do others think he\'ll finish with at the end of the year as a Blueshirt?
