I just traded right wing Alexei Cherepanov for center Patrick O\'Sullivan. Perpetual league with $25 million pre-cap draft and $60 million season cap. The other team said he would have acceppted any one of Steen, Brunette, Cherepanov, Wolski, Esposito. I decided to trade Cherepanov as I need the active players due to injuries.

I think that it\'s a really good trade. I personally have never bought into the Cherry hype and I think there\'s a really good reason why so many teams passed over him (even though I\'m not certain what that reason is....hah)

Add in the factor that Sully is on a team that is only going to get better and better the next couple years and will actively play for you (which is what you need) and you made a really good deal.

Thanks. My thoughts were along the same line

1) O\'Sullivan is playing and Cheery is not
2) Who knows when Cheery will play
3) O\'Sullivan plays for a good young offensive team in LA
4) Who knows how good Cherry will ever be
5) Needed a center as Wellwood is hurt
6) I am loaded on RW with Hossa, Alfredsson, Shanahan, Brunette, Hudler and Frolik
7) I like to trade.
