If your getting Emery and Afin... do it now while you can! If you offered this trade it will not be out there for too long, the guy will more than likely reject without hesitating.

I am not as enthusiastic as my brothers about this trade. Backstrom is solid to the core and should easily compete with Emery for numbers if not exceed them - Emery still hasn\'t played guys and Gerber does not look out of place. Backstrom\'s save percentage over the last 10 weeks of last season was something like .950 and that Wild team didn\'t get worse.

Afinogenov is a certified bandaid boy and as talented as he is, the risk is high that you lose him. Horton is coming on - he has dual eligibility in Yahoo if that helps - he has steadily improved as a goalscorer and going into the magical 4th year he could bust out some. Thereby closing the gap on Afinogenov.

Frankly I don\'t like this trade for you - it could work - but is it worth the risk? Look back on Afinogenov\'s numbers - not a great story.

I would prefer Backstrom and Horton. Too many question marks with Emery and Afinogenov.

I too would like to get Horton and Backstrom (although would try to tweak the deal a bit for a draft pick). Emery may not even be #1 when he gets back the way Gerber is playing and even if he does look for him not to play as many games until one of them is traded.
