That would explain why I've been hitting the rep button on people, but it does not seem to work.

ok, so this rep power/rep points thing still isn't 100%, but here's another curiosity:
There's a little green bar or icon underneath a person's rep power. If you hover your cursor over it, it says "<username> is an unknown quantity at this point". Is this supposed to be linked to "rep points" at some point?
Anyone found a user with something other than "unknown quantity"?
EDIT: Some of them say "tradejunkie is on a distinguished road". What's this related to?

It also looks like the "clock" for handing out rep points is a rolling one, in that I was able to give out rep points just now, but only once before being given the "24 hours" message again.
Well, the thing I know it that I've been able to give reputation 3 times since about 9 am this morning. Let me see if I can do it one last time with you...

So it looks like the "reputation to the same person every 10 others" is working fine!

So, I will be unable to give out real rep points until someone with rep points gives me rep points? Sounds a little incestuous to me ..... but a lot "nicer" than the karma battles.
