    Default The mysterious Daymond

    Hello folks,

Many will agree about that : Daymond Langkow is by far one of this year\'s greatest surprises. I got him in my keeper at the beginning of the year in a trade where he was just the \"spare change\", but boy, things turned great.

However, I wonder if the guy can repeat such impressive numbers next year. I can\'t believe that\'s not his peak we are seeing right now ; it\'s hard to think he can manage to get better numbers next year.

So, basically, my question is : is it the right time to trade him during the off-season, or, with the blooming of Huselius, the arrival of Tanguay and a guy like Iggy surrounding him, will he be as productive again ?

My point here is : the guy came out of nowhere, and is value is quite high right now. But if he gets back to being a so-so player, his fantasy value will get back to almost nothing as fast as it exploded.

What\'s your take on this one ?

    Thanks.

My friends at my pool called him \"the bear\" because he is good at fall and usually sleep during the winter. But this year is a exception.

He is over 30 years old and before this season, his most impressive season was 62 points. I don\'t think he will repeat a season like this. If I were you, I would sell before his value drops more and more.

Seeing how ALL of the Calgary guys have blossomed this year has been a treat. Iginla, Huselius, Langkow...

That said, Langkow may only have one more year in Calgary anyways... Kiprusoff, Iginla, Huselius, and Langkow are all UNRESTRICTED free agents at the end of next year. I don\'t think that Calgary will be able to (or will necessarily want to) re-sign them all. If langkow ends up elsewhere, it will be a far less favorable scenario for him.

I think you should trade him now. Even if he has a couple more years like the one he had this year, it\'s not like he\'ll ever hit 80 points, and he could very easily simmer out as early as next season.

You have a good point there, Lanky. CaporalRadulov, you should trade Langkow.. I did it two months ago. I got Hemsky for Langkow. The best part was that I use one my last pick at the beginning of the year to get Langkow.
Don\'t forget to try sell the fact that his linemate, Huselius, is hot as well.
