Default Thibault a Starter in 07-08?

Any ideas on this guy? Would he be a good candidate to go to a team like Detroit to be their starter or is he a backup from here on out? He is a UFA correct?

    Personnaly, I don\'t think he\'ll ever be a starter.
A good back up goalie but because of his health and his up and down performances, he\'s not stable enough to be a starter.
    That\'s my opinion.

And yes, he is UFA at the end of the season.

I agree - not starter material. I thought he was. But he didn\'t perform that great in Chicago and when he came to Pittsburgh and got hurt...I\'m just getting the impression that he\'s a great backup but not a great starter.

I\'m also watching the game and he\'s standing on his head.
He just seems like he always plays better coming off the bench.
Maybe it the pressure of being #1.

I saw it as well - goalies get in their zones. Remember - Brian Boucher and his...what was it...five shutouts in a row? haha I wonder what his numbers have been since then...

Lanky? Good project for ya!! B)

I liked T-Bo in Chicago. He held in well with such a bad tea in front of him, and impressed me. Not a great starter, but I wouldn\'t panic if I had to use him for 20 games while someone else was injured.
I think he could be a solid backup in the Burgh.

Don\'t forget Scheafar (San Jose) was picked up by Pittsburgh. I think Thibo will be gone - This might get Thibo working hard to get that spot. We\'ll see.

I think if Thibault is smart he\'ll stay where he\'s at and mentor the young guys on the team. That would be a MUCH better situation than he\'ll find anywhere else, and he\'ll have a GREAT shot at winning a cup in the next couple of years.

Pittsburgh probably enjoys having him as a backup/mentor to Fleury just fine, and I don\'t imagine they\'ll try to get rid of him. This is an anson carter situation I think. If he leaves his gravy train because he thinks he can be a starter, or because he thinks he\'s currently better than he is, he\'ll slip into obsurity. If he stays (even if he has to take less money than he might want), he could go down in stanley cup history winning it all with this amazing penguins team at some point in the future.

After the performance he put up last year (when fleury spent most of the year on the bench or in the AHL), I think he\'s proven to everyone in the league that he\'s not a starter.

I wouldn\'t hold onto this guy in fantasy at this point. I think he\'ll be a career backup from here out.
