Team in Sig... I need to keep 8... and am currently leading by a healthy margin. Who would you keep?

Top 7: Crosby, Malkin, Luongo, Gonchar, Hemsky, Nash, Lidstrom

I would go with Jokinen as the eighth guy. He\'s the risky pick that might explode next season.

The safer pick would be Pommer.

and I\'d say Gonchar unless you can package what\'s left for a better D man... you probably want to keep 2 D just lookin at your roster numbers.

For your 8th I would roll the dice on O. Jokinen. If he returns to form, he will be better than all your other players.

Lidstrom has 1-2 yrs left max. Production was down to start...picking up a little now but still.

If you\'re currently in ahead by quite a bit, that means your current team in pretty damn good. I think Niewendyk has it right ... you want to maximize your chances of winning again next year. His top seven are the top seven I would pick: Crosby, Malkin, Luongo, Gonchar, Hemsky, Nash, Lidstrom. I would also probably take Jokinen as your seventh pick. I think he\'ll return to form next year.

Setoguchi is an amazing player, but I just don\'t think he has the track record of these other guys.

Depending on when you have to decide on your keepers, the one change I MIGHT consider making is swapping out Lidstrom for Setoguchi if the Red Wings go to the final next year. He\'s an aging player and has mentioned that he\'s battling a bit of arthritis in his elbows. If he goes to the Cup Final two years in a row, it might be better to go with a younger player. As with Brodeur and Sakic, when you age and continue to play a lot of games, the body can wear down a little bit.
