gagne for cheechoo and huselius

Hi all,

Keeper league, points only, protect 8 from year to year.

Team 1 gets: Gagne

Team 2 gets: Cheechoo, Huselius.

Which team wins, now and the future?

I think Cheechoo has much more upside and I think you\'ve seen what you get with Gagne.

I think i would want more information about the teams and leagues before I knee jerked this one. Off balanced trades always have hidden factors beyond the players on the table.

I\'m a big Gagne fan, but I think Cheechoo should match him and then Huselius is a nice bonus. Team 2 takes it.

you all have to consider what the teams look like.

if team one already has 7 guys that are definite/without a doubt keepers, then picking up two great potential guys for 1 amazing potential guy may not be that great a deal.

if team one lacks depth though, adding these two guys can help significantly.

I\'d be interested to see what the current probable 8 keepers for each team involved are.

I can see the point about knowing the dynamics of each team, but I still have to say that regardless I would rather have Cheechoo and Huselius than Gagne. Gagne and Cheechoo are both goal scorers and I\'d rather have my goal scorer being fed by Thornton than Briere, and Huselius is a nice litte throw in that could surprise again this year.

By and large I agree with you... I like cheechoo a lot, but I think that gagne might be a better keeper than him. Cheechoo only had 37 goals last year despite playing with thornton for nearly all of it. While i do think Cheechoo will bounce back this year, long term I think I\'d prefer gagne.

It is a fairly good deal though, the only case that I would advise against trading gagne, is if you already have 7 keepers that are great. In that case, why not try to trade gagne one for one for someone that may be the value of cheechoo and huselius combined?

Team 2, no questions unless you\'re so loaded you can\'t start both Cheechoo and Huselius.

Team 2 hands down.....Gagne is great and all, he`ll get his 40 goals but he only ever ends up with 65-70 points because of his lack of assists, same with Cheechoo but to add huselius in there too, I think that`s too much.
