I think you can upgrade the two guys you are thinking of replacing this way...

I\'d replace Lombardi with Connolly. If the youngster can stay healthy, he is going to play a major role in Buffalo this season. With his talent and the linemates he is likely going to hit the ice with (Vanek and Afinogenov), Connolly could finally have the break-out year that many have been forecasting for awhile.

On the other one, that involving replacing Langenbrunner, I am probably going to suggest a guy that most others won\'t -- Cory Stillman.
I know he is starting to age (34) and with that likely comes more injuries and less production, but I believe he has one more good season left in the tank in which he can get you 65-70 points, a number of which will have the added benefit of coming on the power play. Is Stillman the safest pick of the group, no. Still, I think he is worth a shot and would go with him...

You might replace Langenbrunner with Stempniak, possibly Wolski or Penner. But, keep a very close eye on Stillman. He is likely to have a bounceback year after injuries, and the year before last he hovered along the ppg mark.

If I had to choose right now, I would pick up Stillman. But I believe he is LW, not RW, but I could be wrong.

As far as Lombardi, I would probably hold on for now as he is probably slated for the top two lines (maybe Iginla/Tanguay, probably Huselius/Nolan) and he might have a breakout year. Keep your eye on Comrie and Connolly (if he can stay healthy, which I am not confident of).

I think Wellwood is also someone you should consider.. He was on pace for almost a point per game before he got hurt. I think he will easily outscore Lombardi if he stays healthy because Lomabadi will be playing in Calgary - not the most offensively minded team or coach.

Langenbrunner\'s probably run his course and someone like Stempniak is itching at the bit but a more reliable W could also do you well. I think Penner - although probably the least skilled will get ample opportunity to play 1st line minutes and PP in Edmonton, + Hemsky really is a gifted setup man.

    Hey Duke

Given your stat categories if you are going to move these guys you should be placing priority on someone who scores goals more than provides assists and someone that likes to shoot. And make sure they are on the top PP unit. I don\'t know who that is off these lists and not about to do the research but that is something you want to keep in mind when you make a move. There are some nice options here but close calls too. Do your homework, chum.

if you have IR spots in your league you might have an opportunity here if Devils throw Langenbrunner on IR

Jamie Langenbrunner will likely have surgery to repair a sports hernia this week. The gritty winger will meet with a specialist in Montreal on Wednesday to determine the best course of action. That is almost guaranteed to be surgery, which will put Langenbrunner on the shelf for the next six-to-eight weeks. Unfortunately, it was decided that simple off-season rest would correct the situation, which was a mistake. If all goes well, a return to the ice in December is projected.

I\'m not a big Lombardi fan [I think a break out season is 60-65 points] and there are a number of other centers that should net these numbers easily.

I\'m with the consensus here...Connolly\'s upside is worth considering. Even if he only plays 60 games I thinks he nets 60 points. Imagine if he plays 75 games.

I would hang onto Lombardi right now. Reports out of camp are positive. So there\'s no need to get rid of him. If you want to gamble then Tim Connolly is your guy because he does have a higher upside but he\'s about as injury proned as Eric Lindros. Also I know Calgary has a stigma of being a defensive club but they had 258 goals last year behind only Nashville in the Western conference and tied with Anaheim and san Jose for second, and behind three teams in the East. So they have the tools to put up a lot of points.

I would defiantely lose Langdenbrunner and pick up Cory Stillman.
