Thanks for posting this jlucas, I was supposed to do it but was remiss as December was a bad month time wise ...

Nashville and Dallas are also available.

It\'d be especially great if somebody took Toronto, because they\'ve traded picks quite a bit and it\'d save hassle for the league if those picks are kept in circulation should we decide to scrap unmanned teams at the end of the season. That would mean taking on a team with no 1st rounder in 09, but also a team with a good base to work from.

Personally, i\'d also love to see Washington taken, because currently I am running the unmanned teams on top of my own team, and Washington is battling my team for 1st place. If you want the immediate challenge, that\'s your pick.

On the opposite end, if you want the full rebuilding challenge, the Rangers wait for you. The previous GM really gutted it.

The other available teams are in various rebuilding stages, with Minnesota probably the most advanced, though Nashville\'s got a solid nucleus to work with.

It\'s a league I really like with a good, friendly group of people, though real life issues just converged on a lot of us this summer and fall to cut our time. It\'s got very interesting challenges thanks to depth (30 teams with rosters of up to 30 active, up to 30 signed prospects, plus unsigned prospects from the last two drafts), salary cap (1M above NHL), PIM friendly scoring system, and a funky and cool playoff format that allows for Cinderella runs. I highly recommend it .

    And it\'s free.

Register on invision plus and then in the league itself, and pick your team.

3 teams - OTT, TOR, WSH - are gone. 4 - NYR, MIN, NSH, DAL left.

NYR is the biggest challenge. Any Blueshirts fan who wants to prove yourself a fantasy hockey genius, this is your ultimate test. Especially with the Isles and Devils among the league powerhouses.

MIN is well on its rebuilding way and has a good young core to run with. Tanguay, Kopitar, Kotalik, Hudler, Franzen, Tlusty, Burns, Kalinin, Tyutin, Krajicek, Backstrom-Harding, with Mursak, Hughes, Ryan White and 2 recent gold medalists DiDomenico and Teubert waiting to join the fray.

NSH is kinda in between, with some excellent win-now pieces (Datsyuk, Zetterberg, St. Louis, Richards, Boyes, Gonchar) and some bright future-pieces (Hornqvist, Simmonds, Porter, D\'Agostini, Subban, Ramo), but not enough of either to go either way. It probably needs a GM next to pick a direction for it. Particularly alluring for someone who likes to use knowledge of prospects, as this team\'s farm could use some work.

I would love to join and I would take Nashville... I\'m just unsure of what the keeper league is all about. It would be my first and I\'m really looking forward to starting something like that up.

This was my first keeper as well. My sig gives you a sense of what depth you need for a top team in it. What\'s entailed is up to you - trading is the main thing; I also like to rely on research and knowledge of prospects so as to get at them while they are still under the radar, but i\'ve seen other GMs, more sure of their trading prowess, wait for trade opportunities to acquire youth after it is clear they are no longer long shots. Either way, given roster sizes (at least 19, at most 30, not counting prospects), salary cap, and number of teams, you need to know your bottom 6 Fs and bottom 3 Ds to build a winner, but otherwise, it\'s pretty much like any other trade pool.

Nashville\'s got a good core to work from, and the admins are happy to give you advice on offers until you get the hang of things - I made some brutal ones when I started.

    Come give it a try.

NSH, MIN, NYR, DAL, and WSH (someone registered for it then bailed) are open. WSH is currently in 2nd place. MIN is a playoff team. NSH\'s direction is for the new GM to decide. NYR is racing for Tavares ...
