I think this is just Lowe taking a flyer on a guy. I think Carter would have to be outstanding and blow everyone away in order to be taken over Nillson or Sanderson. I can\'t see that happening.

This is sort of odd that Carter is training with the Oilers right now. I think he\'s got a pretty good chance of making the team, particularly with Pisani out. Doesn\'t seem like a very good move really. He left the team not on a great note, he was accused of being lazy and a floater.

I don\'t think anyone would have to be outstanding to unseat G. Sanderson IMO. This is mildly intriguing though, b/c Carter has always been a good finisher [he was with D. Weight and he was with the Sedin\'s]. Hemsky needs a finisher...interesting:huh:

all it is , is k lowe clutching at straws and trying to find someone cheapish to fill some offensive gaps...
and it wont work..
i\'ll be surprised if he has his job by the end of the season...
same with mac t
a.c is pretty well done too...
put him up there with j o\'niell
Unless some of the prospects really step it up though, Carter might have a spot waiting for him. Up until this point only Nilsson has shown much.
Now, with that being said and out of the way I have been keeping tabs on the Joey Moss Cup, which is the Oilers training camp final game basically.
After 2 periods the top line for Team Blue is Hemsky, Penner and Gagner. Hemsky has 2 goals and 2 assists, Penner has 4 assists and Gagner has 2 goals and an assist and they are simply tearing it up out there. Roloson was in net for almost all of those goals as well, so it wasn\'t like they were scoring on some D goalie.
I\'ll let you know if it keeps up after the third.
Third period ends with Gagner setting up Hemsky again to end the game 9-4 for their team. An absolute onslaught by that line.
Of course it\'s still training camp, not even preseason, no playing against nhlers...blah blah blah. But it\'s a good sign for fans of those guys.
Thanks Doulos - nice to have this info - having a line that seems have found some chemistry this early would bode well for them - be interesting to see how the preseason games go.
