Toews or Backstrom

Last year at this time all the hype was surrounding Backstrom for this years NHL season. Right now in most fantasy magazines Toews is the number 1 choice for rookie of the year. Im assuming that people have started to lay off Backstrom now because he will more than likely be playing on the second line now that Nylander is around, but I honestly think that Toews is the better player. What is everyone elses thoughts?

I\'m torn on this one as well. If Backstrom didn\'t have Ovechkin on his team, Toews would probably be ranked
higher.

I have a hard time with some of these mags out there... One of them had ej raited 23 or 25.. around there for calder winner.. The facts they used to do this raiting was that he only scored 4 goals in collage... Now most fantasy hockey guys know better than to go on those stats alone when they seem to forget he had more points than toews and backstrom in the wjc.... Don\'t think for a second guys that he will out produce toews, but he should be considered one of the top calder canidates...

Yes I got side tracked... If I had to draft one of eather Backstrom or Toews... It would be backstrom... My feeling is always look at other sorces for advice.. but use your gut feeling\'s when picking your players...

I\'d take Backstrom. While Toews is a great player and Chicago\'s an improving team, a playmaking center on Ovechkin/Semin\'s team is just GOLD. It would be like having an elite sniper on the Penguins...
