Well they will place a guy on IR if they need to the roster spot for a call up - sometimes they don\'t need it. I think players are paid less when they are on IR as well and some teams don\'t want their primo players taking a pay cut. I suspect in this case that he will hit IR sooner or later though.

I\'m hoping that when they pull Kariya off that he\'ll go on.
I just wish there was someway of knowing. Or at least some way I could guess. I don\'t want to have a guy do nothing on my roster, but I don\'t want to drop him the day before he could go IR...
The fact that they have so many guys on the IR scares me, but they can\'t keep him active for 2 months, can they?
