need some help again on trades


1. zubov or boyes,w.mitchell
2. meuller/phaneuff or burns/marleau

Trade 1
I\'m slowly pulling towards Boyes. Zubov is getting pretty long on the tooth & scratches up pretty easy.

Trade 2
Phaneuf? If you have to ask a question, it\'s clearly not nearly enough. If Mueller were to find form, you would truly be sad later. Way too much on his plate and not nearly enough on yours. Phaneuf is pretty special.

I\'m left to wonder that there aren\'t enough D-men to go around! Guard them fervently!

I would tend to agree with JHM on all points. I believe Boyes to a legit sniper with 80 point upside, though he may not reach that level this year.

I also agree with JHM that quality D Men are extremely rare, especially guys like Phaneuf and Green. I drafted these two guys 20th and 21st overall in our inaugural draft this year and only traded Phaneuf (reluctantly) because I was able to make a couple of swaps which ultimately netted me a pair of quality keepers (Kovalchuk and O\'Sullivan) in return.

Mueller is also a quality young guy with 90+ point upside in 3-4 years.

Mueller and Phaneuf far outshine Burns and Marleau IMO.

i was offered these trades to me, im still not sure if you think from the 2nd post that i should take it or not?

trade away my zubov for boyes

then trade away my marleau and burns and get phaneuff and meuller


meuller i could see 70ish pts, am i undervaluing him?

also boyes +/-...this isnt a concern to give up for a powerplay d man?

its a 12 teamer too..so i cant really pick up a decent LW..but thats offset by picking up phaneuff over burns im guessing?

zubov pt potential could still be high however..i think its close with boyes but more 0.02 will help again thanks i was about to reject these and love to hear more opinions or thoughts

ONE YEAR. That\'s my mistake. That changes the picture a lot. Basically you can add the points up. Change the numbers as suits your feelings.

Add the points up.

1. zubov 50 point pace (high injury factor)
2. boyes 70 point pace
3. w.mitchell - I don\'t even have this guy on my radar. He\'s stay at home. Play tough. No points. Very minimal value.

Total 120 point (pro-rated to 82 game season)

4. mueller 50+ point pace (possible explosion, possible artificial high trade value)
5. phaneuf 60+ point pace (possible artificial high trade value)
6. burns 40-45 point pace
7. marleau 70 point pace

This side prorates higher and has more trading potentials. If the deal was even, I\'d keep the side that had more points on the blueline.

i may not trade boyes and zubov, keeping zubov

but picking up phaneuff is better than burns...but giving up marelau for a guy like meuller is risky....im TORN :S

if I were you I wouldn\'t worry AT ALL about if this was a good trade for you...the bottom line is you got phaneuf, the best performing Dman in the league (multi cats)...and mueller for marleau is apt to be a wash when mueller starts performing at his expected level. burns is a sweet Dman, and is playing forward...but I would give up a solid Dman and take a downgrade at forward ANY DAY to get an elite Dman
