Defenceman Alex Vlasic has agreed to terms on a six-year, $27.6 million contract extension with the Chicago Blackhawks, the team announced on Thursday.
The extension will have an average annual value of $4.6 million. Vlasic was scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer following the conclusion of his entry-level contract.

Yep, Vlasic is a great example of a player that has significant real-life value and minimal fantasy hockey value. If he starts to hit a whole lot more then maybe his fantasy value spikes, but at this point it is what it is. A nice signing for the Hawks however.Originally Posted by Daydream Nation

I probably watched a handful of Hawks games this year and thought he was pretty solid - especially for his age.
Nice signing here... and I always like it when a young GM (Davidson) awards extensions to guys that pre-date his drafts.
