Big news: Marc-Andre Fleury is signing a 1-year extension with #mnwild at $2.5 million.

Fleury turns 40 in November. Flower climbed to second all-time in wins (561) last season and with 21 more games, can pass Roy and Luongo for second all-time in games played by a goaltender.

The thing is, he was the best UFA goalie on the market, so this is a bigger deal than it seems. Him re-upping with the Wild now all but assures that the Devils will need to make a trade this offseason.

Love the Flower. Glad he's coming back for another year if he's still got the fire in him.

for my fantasy team it stinks a little bit, but really for MIN its the best option.

Fun Fact: I'm... pretty sure... Fleury is the last remaining active NHL goaltender with a "tie" on his stats card:
    https://www.nhl.com/wild/player/marc...fleury-8470594
(Craig Anderson was probably the 2nd last...)

Actually... looks like Fleury may be the only remaining NHLer in the league to have played in a "tie" (which ended with the 2003-04 season).
EDIT... Brent Burns played in a tie that year!

    [The '03 Fleury Draft also includes "still playing"ers: E.Staal (2), R.Suter (7), J.Carter (11), Parise (17), B.Burns (20), C.Perry (28) - but only Fleury & Burns played in NHL in '03-'04.]

More Fun Facts: The last "tie" in the NHL was April 4, 2004. (4/4/04... you won't ever forget that)
Players in that game included: 19-year old Eric Staal, Rod Brind'Amour, Justin Williams and Irbe/Weekes (for CAR)... O.Jokinen, Audette, 20-year old Bouwmeester, and Luongo (for FLA)

    Has this guy even aged?

I think the Wild try to move Gustavsson this off-season. I think they are unhappy with him not just on performance but there's rumors he's lazy, not in great shape and doesn't practice very hard.
