I took the Rangers in 5. They aren't getting much love as the Presidents Trophy winner as far as potential Cup winners but I cant see Washington holding them back.

Rangers in a sweep. The capitals won the sweepstakes between all the teams that were trying to miss the playoffs, that doesn't give me any confidence in them beating the president's trophy winner even once.

As a Habs fan, this gives me vibes of 2010. I could be totally wrong, but the Habs entering that series against the Caps as a massive underdog (100 less goals scored), happy to be there team (finished with only 39 wins) with absolutely no stars, no real offense (Scott Gomez was their second leading scorer with 59 points, Plekanec led the way with 70), two goalies that were average but one entering the playoffs hot (Halak vs Lindgren). Against a team that was a high-scoring powerhouse but was also power-play heavy with not the best depth. And then magic just happened because they played defense pretty well and their goalie stayed hot.
Not saying that will happen at all, but I kind of wish the Caps can make it happen. The Rangers are not a great 5-on-5 team and they have had their issues as favorites in the past. The Rangers could totally sweep...but I can easily see a path for a much longer series than what is being voted here.
