At his size you need to move well, and holy does he move well. But unless he's a top offensive PP guy, I don't know how long he'll last in all honesty. However, Jared Spurgeon is the same size and look at him.

Just seen a few highlights - Lane looks to be the real deal.

He's really only a few pounds lighter than Quinn Hughes no? pretty much the same height depending on what website you look, Elite prospects lists him as 5'10

He has looked good so far but Habs fans are Cuckoo for cocoa puffs they way they act when he touches the puck. It's comical. I guess, when you dont have much else to cheer for, you need to hang your hat somewhere.

I’m a Habs and NHL hockey fan. Didn’t remembered watching the first few games of Hughes, Makar, but I was not so impressed with the skating of Hutson. He seems to do always the same plays.

I really hope he will be the real offense D the Habs need, but I’m not sold on it.

Im pretty impressed with the improvement of Slaf in one year, so maybe I will write the same thing about Hutson next year.

I meant his margin for error at being successful is small. He needs to produce offensively otherwise he will be someone who doesn't defend toughly (bottom pair guys) with minimal offensive upside (it it doesn't develop). Which will have him in the AHL.

it’s possible, but I doubt it. I think they keep Matheson there and let Hutson ease in and learn on PP2, which they have to get going as it’s been abysmal this year. But with guys like Dach coming back, Joshua Roy hopefully being a full-timer, and whatever F scoring punch they might get in free agency, they can spread out more of the wealth on the two power-play units and I think that’s where Hutson will come in very handy.

No need to crap on the Habs fans. We’ve had so few game breakers over the years that have brought people out of their seats, the last one was probably Subban ironically, so the excitement level is understandable. I’m super happy that the fans are hyped up to see what this kid can do. and he does have the kind of flash that is just what the doctor ordered, it’ll be more about whether he can become serviceable in the defensive zone and other areas.
