Default Time to switch to keeper mode

After running away with the regular season, then losing in the semi's due to goalie injuries and really bad matchups for my studs, I'm already switching to keeper mode. McDavid and B. Tkachuk are givens, then there's #3 and #4 (one of which must be a d-man or goalie). I traded J. Robertson/3rd for Hyman/2nd at the deadline for positional and goal purposes. I'm not sold on Hyman as a keeper over both Josi and Dahlin and could probably turn him into a decent return of a 1st or 2nd round pick in the redraft. D-men have little value for picks in my league. Thoughts? Also, it's very hard to package 2 for 1 due to the fact most teams have 4 decent keepers and would need to move one in a deal like that.
Two keeper options here, one is more points based the other banger based. I have no problem keeping 2 d-men if the return for Hyman is a 1st or high 2nd.

It's going to be interesting to see what the forum thinks on this but personally I am not at all convinced Zach Hyman is a keep in a keep 4. McDavid, Tkachuk, Josi and Dahlin are.

I’d definitely go with your 2 D here. Far easier to replace Hyman in the draft.

With only 3D spots compared to 2 at each forward it makes sense there isn't as much value in Dman compared to other leagues.

Blk shots is an interesting category which does give a little bonus value to some d-man.

Your signature shows you only have 2 dman??

    Dahlin is definitely a keep.

It's between Hyman and Josi for last spot

    McDavid, Tkachuk, Hyman, Josi.
Yes. I'm keeping Hyman - he fits TOO WELL with McDavid - and the numbers are the numbers.
Your league counts GWG - so that's essentially a BONUS Goal-stat... with UP-VALUE to guys on "good teams" - because goals are more likely to be "game-winning" on good teams.

Dahlin is a very talented D-man, sure, but BUF may find that they want to run two balanced PP units with what they have.
Because he has extraordinary HIT/BLK numbers - you should be able to get a huge return for him.
BUT... HIT/BLK are easy... stream those in weekly with any defender that is 4-game schedule.
If you get to fantasy playoffs and your opponent has a strong HIT/BLK team... you can line that up with schedule/waivers.
You simply can NOT chase extra goals late in a fantasy season. They aren't on the wire. So Hyman's easy McDavid-tap ins... I just wouldn't drop those.

If trading is an option - I'd look to move Dahlin to the Tage Thompson owner.

I'm keeping McDavid, Tkachuk, and Dahlin for sure. Then Josi. And look to draft a 4th keeper replacement due to Josi's age.

Dahlin and Hyman would be my last two keeps.

I think Josi (with his age) will come back down to Earth next year, like the previous time he got 90+ points.

There will be some good dman available that produce solid points with BLKS and HIT totals.

Hyman- There's not a lot of players that can move the goal needle. Hyman is now one of those.

Thanks for the input. I gots me some thinking to do. I think Josi over Hyman may come down to the return I get for Hyman as I'd love to add another high end pick for the redraft.
