Maybe now people can stop overreacting to the Russian factor. I know it won't happen, but even Fedotov made it to North America.

FWIW Sandstrom is on emergency loan, so it makes sense to send him down. I don't think having Sandstrom on the NHL roster costs them one of their post-deadline call-ups. Doesn't necessarily mean Fedotov is absolutely going to play. I hope he plays.

Looks like he will be a UFA this summer. I think he re-signs with PHI fairly easily, considering he intended to play there all along. But it could be a crazy UFA frenzy for an unknown goalie.

If Philly really thinks he is that good they should probably not play him at all this season so other teams are less likely to go after him if he steals the show...on the other hand, if he craps out, be easier for Philly to sign him as well. Another factor to consider is the fact that based on all that happened with him in Russian, maybe he will want to stay in NA period. If that is the case, its easier to get your citizen card in Canada than it is in the states. Well at least thats a case for most people, maybe different for professional sports player.

Either way this will be fascinating to follow and im glad he finally crossed over...

All the Russian studs played in the AHL to adjust to the game here. Will he be a Sorokin/Shesterkin or a Koskinen. Time will tell. Not every goalie who does well in the KHL dominates in the NHL.

obviously we cant say for sure, but atm NHL creese is dominated by Russian born players. He is also a biggest goalie every to come out of KHL i believe. If im wrong he is close.

Honestly i be surprised if he is closer to Koskinen than Sorokin but time will tell...

Personally im more excitied about the fact that he was alowed to corss than to see him play lol..right or wrong....

But the way we heard about it suddenly, i wonder if he did run....crazy world over there. Im was born in Poland and crossed over at 17 a long while ago. I do have family there and i sometimes follow news. The are starting to prepare themselves for possible conflict with Russia and its scary.

Philly's official measurements on Fedotov from the last day or two are 6'7" and 214lbs.

So the same height as Koskinen then, give or take.

Comparing Koskinen and Fedotov only works if you completely ignore their performance and only focus on their nationality and size.

I'm not ignoring performance at all. If anything, that's exactly what I was looking at, along with their size. We can start looking at GAA and Sv% for both too if you'd like. They're fairly comparable as well. Koskinen might have been a bit better some years.

Not at the same age though. Age adjusted performance is the whole point.
