ZFHL has been online since 2007.
Some important details:
- scoring catergories are weighted and provide fantasy points. Goals and Assists are 25 FP each. Hits and Blocks are 2 FP each, etc.
- line changes are week to week, completed by GMs on Fantrax.
- Salary Cap is NHL Salary Cap plus $950K per Bench slot, for the 2024/2025 season we will be shortening the available bench to 6. These bench slots are not mandatory but the 950K per Bench slot is provided either way.
- Salary Floor is equal to NHLs
- 19 active roster (12 F, 6 D, 1G)
- 6 bench roster, there is no minors so if a player has gone over their prospect eligibility but are playing in the minors or Europe you must keep them on your bench.
- 30 prospect roster (eligibility= 65 NHL gp for skaters, 40 NHL gp for goalies)
- players taken in the ZFHL entry draft are given a 2 year reserve status -- they do not count against the 30 prospect roster. Teams must choose to keep the player and add them to their roster prior to the start of the season after they lose eligibility. EX. 2021 drafted players lose this status at the start of the 2023 season.
- Player salaries are year to year salary not caphit average.
- EX. Panarin's AAV is $10 million but his total salary hit is $7 million this year.
- play-offs take place during the NHL play-offs with a smaller roster.
