I don't think we have ever ran into anyone actually needing to replace players,

But yes, there was a system discussed in previous years to allow for us to start the draft before the allotment of playoff teams was finalized.

I feel like if players were that ended up missing the playoffs... that those players would get replaced in the order that they were drafted.

Example

Buffalo, Ottawa and New Jersey are all battling for the final playoff spot and these players from these teams get drafted in this order.
So Team 8 would get to pick 2 replacement players first because they picked players that missed out in round 11 and 12.

Team 8 Round 11 - Tage Thompson
Team 8 Round 12 - Jeff Skinner
Team 3 Round 12 - Brady Tkachuk
Team 3 Round 13 - Tim Stuetzle
Team 5 Round 13 - Jack Hughes
Team 8 Round 13 - Buffalo Goalies
Team 8 Round 14 - Rasmus Dahlin
Team 5 Round 14 - Devils Goalies
Team 3 Round 14 - Claude Giroux

Ottawa ends up making the playoffs - So Team 3 is not effected. But Team 5 and 8 both have players that missed the playoffs.

So they get to be replaced by whoever has not been drafted in the draft.Team 8 Round 11 - Tage Thompson Replacement - Ottawa Goalies
Team 8 Round 12 - Jeff Skinner Replacement - 4th line winger from 1st place in Metro
Team 3 Round 12 - Brady Tkachuk

Team 5 Round 13 - Jack Hughes - Replacement - #4 Dman from 2nd place Central team
Team 8 Round 13 - Buffalo Goalies - Replacement - Goalies from 4th place Metro Team
Team 8 Round 14 - Rasmus Dahlin Replacement - 3rd liner from 3 place Pacific team
Team 5 Round 14 - Devils Goalies
Team 3 Round 14 - Claude Giroux

Yes, so, sorry. I was confused last night.
What I meant anyway was that I hoped TB would not face FLA, which was the case when we started the draft. I remember liking their chance to win R1, but misremembered it was indeed BOS and not TOR that could have faced them.

My draft strategy has not gone well with it looking like VGK and EDM are now on a collision course in the first round. VGK was not supposed to pass LA to jump out of the Wildcard crossover to the other half of the bracket. Ah well.

Did people get emails when you were PMed? I have not had any email from this forum work since like christmas time. I just thought I'd ask this group as many would have gotten emails for this. If you didn't get them, what email provider do you use? Have tried to get this fixed with the folks who keep the website running smoothly, but no luck yet.
