Hey thanks yeah just saw they updated fantrax…

Now the question is with playoffs starting tonight and our rosters needing to be locked so I ride the loss of marner and hope he comes back for second round or back end of this week at best or bench him the WHOLE playoffs and add someone from FA to pad stats… guys like pietrangelo, Huber, Hayes are a valuable.

However adding anyone means I would have to leave marner on bench through playoffs AND big complications this summer as we are a salary cap league.

This is not for team in sig and I finished 2nd in H2H league. Marner is very good bc added to scoring cats we also have short handed mins and hits

Fantasy Hockey can be cruel! This is tough. From what you're saying, it sounds like hoping for Marner to get back into the line up is the easier way to go than making a pick up given your league setup. That sure doesn't help you much. The problem is, we will never know the truth about the extent of the injury, this kind of stuff is kept a big secret. The thing is, a high ankle sprain is a nasty bit of business, and it can take guys several weeks to recover from that kind of injury if it's a bad sprain. Recovery can take as long as a break or a fracture is the sprain is severe. I don't have the refence now, but I did read that Marner's problem was indeed a high ankle sprain. The fact that he has not responded quickly to treatment and will miss the road trip is concerning, does that indicate that it was indeed a bad sprain? Who the hell knows. I know this isn't particularly helpful, but I am saying that there is a possibility here that Marner is not day to day, but week to week. Whatever you decide, good luck.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah these injuries are never know. I have decided to ride with marner on roster and hope for the best. I should be able to get through first round without him and then we will see come second round. I have zegras that I was going to leave on IR all playoffs. If he returns and marner seems to be out more long term then I’ll activate zegras.

Marner just hard to lose especially with 4 games this week.. would have been nice to have him and B.tkachuk for 4 games in a week lol.

Marner's absence is hugely apparent right now. I feel awful these injuries are costing him 100pt seasons.

In his last 410gp (6seasons), he has 500pts. 100pts/82gp (bang on 100pts). He has 0 100pt seasons.

Kyper said he heard Marner might be back Saturday. He was the first person to say that Marner's injury is actually something to be worried about the day after the Boston game. So he does have legit Leafs connections. But 16 days off for a high ankle and no practice? I dunno. I guess it depends if the Leafs have a practice today and he's out there.

He is skating and is day to day. I wouldn't bank on him playing Thursday, but it sounds like he is close. Probably back within a week (closer to the end of that time frame) although that is just an educated guess.

Apparently Marner may return to practice Wednesday.

Good to hear as I can really use him back!! Otherwise I would activate zegras but that would leave marner on bench rest of playoffs ��

I saw video's of him practicing. He looks like he could play if it was a playoff game. But there's 0 reason for them to push him right now, especially with 93pts looking like the mark for the playoffs for the East (Leafs are at 89pts)
