Trade for Hill, play the wire.

ESPN league in sig. Keep 10 (max 2 goalies)


Sitting 2nd in last week of reg season. I could jump the top team but I need to outscore him by 4 wins and it doesn’t look likely with only half today and tomorrrow left.


Trade deadline incoming Monday the 18th in time for playoffs to start.


Goalies are Bobrovsky, Jarry, Graubauer and Daccord


Jarry is just killing me.
Fleury, Thompson, Hill, Samsonov are on the block from other teams.


Waiver wire: Korpisalo, Forsberg, Kuemper, Merzlinkins, Tarasov, Rittich. And the rest of the less frequent playing backups.


Not that pretty. Hill would be my target. But is it worth it? Probably costs me a 1st rounder (so like 10-12 overall in my draft). I’d have to drop one of my goalies to take another on, as we can only roster 4. Not looking to trade any players since I’m pushing for the championship this year and don’t think weakening my forward corps is worth the goalie upgrade.


Manager of Samsonov hates him so I could probably get him for a 3rd or 4th (35th-45th pick in draft). I don’t like injury prone goalies tho and he’s fighting Woll.


Do I bother with Hill or play the wire?

Hill isn’t a bad target, but I don’t know that I’d give up a 1st. Hill has been playing pretty poor lately. Maybe his owner is frustrated a bit and you can buy low…not needing to go above a 2nd rounder. Or possibly offer a conditional pick, Hill for a 3rd, which becomes a 2nd if Hill performs at “x” (whatever stats seem reasonable to you and are better than his past month’s stats), and becomes a 1st if you win the title / you play Hill in X number of games / better stats than you propose in for the 2nd round pick.

I’d be fine dropping any of the non-Bob goalies on your roster if you can get Hill.

I'd try to get Samsonov. The Leafs win games, and I wouldn't worry too much about Woll. Also cheaper. Sure there's an injury risk, but that's what makes him high risk high reward, plus you keep your first.

I'm inclined to agree that the best bang for your buck here is Samsonov.
