I think it shows desperation taking a chance on a guy like Kuz. I don't like the move from a personal relations aspect and it'll be a move that just won't work out. He is washed until he takes an offseason seriously.
Maybe the change of scenery wakes him up, and maybe they knew they had $4m in cap space they weren't going to use on anything else today, so it's low risk medium reward. I dunno, I just wouldn't touch Kuz unless they got a 3rd team involved eating more. Moving an additional 3rd round pick, getting his cap to around $1.95m would mean if they needed to send him to the AHL, he'd only be a $800k dead cap penalty. Right now he'd be a $2.75m dead cap penalty.
