    Default Klingberg Next Year

I know interest is minimal but im just curious if people.think there's anything left in the tank? Location will automatically a big role here and we'll have to see how he bounces back from such a severe injury but he'll only be 32 next year.

Hes generally been good for 0.5 ppg and if he can get to even that level- he could help my teams D depth quite a bit.

Outside of him there's not really any D worth gambling on- lol! I'd probably add an upside forward like Zadina or Rasmussen- 18 team league with big benchnso pickings are slim.

    What yall think??

He wasn't even that good while with Toronto despite getting first dibs on the PP and starting nearly two-thirds of his shifts in the offensive zone. Also, teams looking for a one-dimensional offensive d-man this offseason likely would opt for Ghost or even DeAngelo before him. That all being said, he likely does land a deal, but at a low enough cost that if he doesn't step up right away he will get buried. I'd say the chances thought that he is even on the fantasy radar at all by this time next season are under 50%.

I think he'll end up being a 2nd or likely 3rd line D man who gets PP2 time on a good team, like Shattenkirk. I don't think he'll be fantasy relevant again.

I agree hes likely done as a top option but Shattenkirk on the right team at 32 would still pack enough punch to warrant depth deployment- and thats essentially what I'm talking about.

My core is in good shape long term- Werenski, Hughes, Clarke, maybe even Xhekaj turns out in our format- but we start 4 and my only.other options are Zamula whose been solid as far as expectations go but well below the numbers we need for a starting guy... and klingberg lol!

I guess I'm asking if there's an upside of.40 points there. Crazy as it is hes by far the best option available. on waivers...

If you can snag him for free I don't mind it as a wait and see. Your expectations of what he might be seem appropriate.

Chances are, there's nothing more to see. So then you dump him. No biggie.

If you're in a very deep league and the cost to keep him rostered is very minimal, then fine, Klingberg is likely worth hanging onto and waiting to see what happens. If neither of those first two conditions is met, well, I'm cutting bait. A 50% chance of fantasy relevance at this time next year might be a wee bit optimistic.

I see a team like the sharks signing him to a 1 year hoping they can flip him come playoff time.

They have limited pp options anyways
