    Default Paid a hefty price

I have paid a hefty price, but think it really puts me in the best spot to win this year and possibly next year as well.
For my team in signature, so yes this is a board game based fantasy league. Stats from last season are used to generate cards for this season.

    I traded 2 x 1st rd picks (2024 & 2025), Matt Barzal, Alexander Holtz and 2024 3rd rd pick
    I received Matthew Tkachuk

So his card this year is a 40 goal scorer, but because of his PIM rating he will protect my 50 goal man Rantanen this yr and will be a solid card again next season.
    So now my lines will feature a 40 & 60 on 1st line / 40 & 50 on 2nd line / 30 & 40 on 3rd line.

Then in off season could look to recoup an asset or 2. As could face some cap issues then before we submit our rosters.
12 team Card Hockey League. Use stats from last NHL season ex: 2022-23 stats will be used for our 23-24 season cards

your set up is one i dont understand however if this was any of my leagues which are full dynasty and those pick are entry draft picks only....that would be huge steal specially if you compete as you say and those picks are outside of top 5-10. In my league this would not be big price to pay. Very well done imo.

I'm also not familiar with the format, however I doubt this was a high price to pay. This looks like a steal for an elite player.

Ideally my 2024 pick ends up 12th this year
Example of some players available this draft ( I haven't completed a huge dive into who's available); L Hughes, B Faber, L Carlsson, S Nemec, M Piotras, M Grandlund, W Eklund, F Zetterberg, N Dawes, J Hoffer, J Neigbors, D Levi, L Cooley, C Zary, P Mintyukov, B Brink, M Loheri. To list a few, more established players could become available in the draft depending on protection rosters submitted.

So it creates a small set back in acquiring youth to keep team fresh, but believe it was good trade to make

I am happy with it, but most GM's in this league won't trade 2 1st rd picks in 1 trade. They carry good value, but I think that is partly why the other GM accepted because of their value and what Barzal's card will do for them next season.
