Hi,

In a tight race to win my dynasty league.

Acquired Elias Lindholm shortly after his trade to the Canucks for a struggling Huberdeau.

I'm starting to regret my move - he's 1 for 8 since the trade, and Huberdeau's got 5 points in that same span.


Is it time to hit the panic button and try to flip him?
He's been put on the L3 and PP2 tonight, and his ice time has already plummeted from 20 to 17 to 15 minutes tonight.


Calling out Dobbermaniacs from BC who saw him play - I don't watch hockey on the West Coast very much, sadly.

I'm in the same boat, picked him up at the trade deadline for a 12th for 14th round pick exchange, enjoyed the first 4 goals and now he's become "One Shot Elias". I've pretty much won the title at this point, so I can afford a few more weeks to see if he turns around before playoff start, but watching Monahan and Strome with finger over the drop button as well.

I've listened to some podcasts from Vancouver "experts" who say that it's a lack of gelling with any of the wingers that the Nucks have (who are not named Boeser since he's stapled to Miller) and that the hope is that once Joshua is back, he'd be a natural fit with Lindholm. I don't know if Joshua is the answer, but it's hard to perform when your wingers are a changing cast of Garland, Blueger, and Podkolzin...

The problem is that the Nucks have their 1/2 centres already (Pettersson and Miller) and seem intent on having Lindy have his own line as the 3C guy....

Even if you're willing to take less back for him than what it cost to acquire him, I don't know if I can see anyone trading for him right now. Honestly, I think you're probably better off just dropping him. Even in a 14 team league, there's probably something better on the wire.

it never hurts to try to trade him but chances are you wont like what you will get. When player is underperforming you dont trade him, you wait it out. Ideally you trade players that are over performing but then you dont want to trade them cause they are doing good for your team...its vicious circle sometimes but truth is that if you try to trade him right now you will not get fair value. Personally you prefer Lindholm to Hubs so i dotn think you did bad. Just wait it out.

Side note, both him and Kuzmenko who he was traded for scored in first period of their first games and then both went quiet...

Obviously, I'd never sell low on a player. If I wasn't fighting for 1st place, I would have kept Huberdeau in the first place and hope he'd turn it around at some point for next year.

I may need to move Lindholm because of that. So yeah, I'd sell low if it meant I'd secure first place.

Sadly, there's no waivers during the season. What we drafted is the asset pool we own to trade.

But what I read here is, basically, he's stuck as C3 for what we know, and without anybody's surprise, there aren't a 5th and a 6th winger worth it. And he didn't click on PP1.

Man, just stumbled onto this thread. I'd give this time. Sometimes the dust has to settle a bit for players to really settle in once they move to a new organization.

The only thing worse than making a trade that doesn't pan out is making a trade, quickly giving up on the player you acquired as a knee-jerk reaction to buyer's remorse and a slow start with a new team, only to then see said player catching fire on someone else's roster like you initially suspected he might.

This is what I was coming to say. Rumors are rumors but whats floating out there is he could be flipped in a 3 team trade with Pittsburgh and Boston where Guentzel goes to Vancouver and Lindholm to Boston. Not sure what Pittsburgh gets in this but that is one of the rumors floating around.

this is what everyone thought when he was traded to Vancouver. Him and Pettersson will be on fire. He is what he was last year (64pts) not the 82 pt player from the year before.

It seems more doubtful based on the scuttlebutt that Lindy will get to Boston and he seems cemented where he is in the rotation.

With Henrique on L2 with Drai and Kane, am I crazy of thinking to drop Lindy for Henrique?
