Team 2 in Sig; I dealt Werenski and a seventh rounder next season for Lucas Raymond. I now own 8 D with only 4 start slots plus two UTIL. Just ended up this way after someone dropped Montour, I scooped Faber/Sanderson earlier on, etc. Lucas' dual-eligibility is always nice and obvi thin the herd a little on the blue line. Keeper selections will now be a real b*tch but Timo is absolutely coming out of the core in the offseason. Relatively fair right?

I think we know who Werenski is at this point, while there is untapped potential with Raymond.
You dealt from your surplus position and ended up with a young and still improving forward who could reach PPG status.
I like it.

I like this deal for you because it very likely addresses a positional requirement and because your depth on D allowed you to move Werenski. I don't think it was a steal, however. Werenski is 26, just hitting his prime and has early on proven he can produce at a 50 pt + pace, he's done it 4 times already and this year he will significantly surpass that. I think 60+ pt seasons throughout his prime are not unrealistic expectations. Those kinds of offensive D Men do not grow on trees. The one thing I don't like is Zach's bandaid boy status, so that's in your favour. "Everybody loves Raymond", I like that!! I too am high on this guy, and I think he can be a legit PPG forward for the Wings when he hits his prime and that's just around the corner. You need a forward like that. I think you had to give to get and that's just what happened. All good. BTW, It's unlikely that the 7th rounder you gave up turns into much ... then again I believe the Wings selected Henrik Zetterberg in the 7th round, 210th overall (:
