Why did Kaprisov only had 2 years of ELC?

I was reading the Nikishin vs Brindley thread and was wondering if Nikishin would be a 25yo producing big time for only 0.9m a year for his first 3 years in the league then checked Kaprisov's contracts and now I'm confused

Same goes for Michkov
