Saros for Vilardi+Faber
I was offered a trade this morning of my Saros for his Vilardi and Faber.
My offense has been pretty anemic the last few weeks, so Vilardi would be a help, especially with Keller's status up in the air right now. But I'm not sure about Faber. Maybe he's nursing an injury or he's tired from consistently playing 25+ minutes a night, but his stats have fallen off lately. Adding him seems more like a move for next year then one that helps me now.
On my side, I'm a little reluctant to go into playoffs with only three goalies. The waiver wire is a wasteland for goalies and I'm one injury away from relying on Petr Mrazek.
So, overall, I feel like this is a reject. But maybe I'm undervaluing Faber, overvaluing a fourth goalie, or both?

This is a hard no. Faber is a fine d-man, but he was situationally better given his deployment. His GM is trying to sell before the market craters, while hoping to grab a buy low Saros. And Vilardi is a decent forward but has not shown signs of making a near or even long term major impact in Winnipeg.

Thank, guys. I rejected the offer and told him he'd have to do better than Vilardi if he wants Saros. I specific asked for either Robert Thomas or Jesper Bratt. I don't think he'll be willing to do that, but he does like Saros. He had him for years until I pried him loose this offseason.

He came back with an offer of Robert Thomas and Akira Schmid for Saros (ironically, Schmid was part of the package I sent him for Saros). He traded Faber earlier for Jordan Kyrou. I don't think Schmid has a ton of value, so I would probably counter with Thomas straight up for Saros.

It's not that I want to trade him. But I need to upgrade my offense and long term Demko and Swayman make Saros a luxury that I could potentially use to upgrade other areas. I'm just looking for advice about whether these are trades worth making.Originally Posted by Belexus75
