Thanks.
Yeesh on Fowler/Knight in front of Levi/Wolf.
Shakes head.
Wheeler has such a hard-on for all things USNTDP/USjrs.
I stopped paying for theathletic because his overhype/rank on almost every USNTDP kid is just... nauseating (to be a bit extreme - for making a point).
At least he (seems) bold enough to not have Frank Nazar on the list.
A bit surprising giving his UM stats. Wheeler must actually be "watching" him. IDK.
A bit surprising to see Wheeler shift a USNTDP kid down... but I congratulate Wheeler for shifting him.
Wheeler had USNTDP Isaac Howard at his #10... and Nazar at his #11 in the 2022 draft.

(For some reason, I googled and can scroll this one on half screen...)
Where does Wheeler rank Isaac Howard?
[Like Pronman... Wheeler also - typically - underranks defenseman. This just seems to be common trait among online prospect-rankers who didn't "grow up" playing hockey competitively... and/or especially... didn't grow up playing defense.]
Top 75 are listed. Howard is in the honorable mention...
^Awesome - big thanks for the replies!!!
(I love prospect stuff...)
No... I mean... historically, his lists (along with MOST others)... if you compare them to actual NHL drafts... he overranks forwards... underranks D.
This list... easier.
Everybody & their mother should know that Nemec & Brandt Clarke are looking really good. Lane Hutson too.
I'm fine with THIS list.
(and I don't have access to it... just seeing the top10 from hr's post)
Just past Wheeler lists... if you look at them... track back 4-5 years worth of mid-season and final lists... I think you'll see his trending as a F-friendly prospect ranker... and especially USNTDP forwards.
Okay, it may very well be true. Just thought that this top 25 posted above had a decent number of D, and some higher than I expected. ...but I know Wheeler and some posters here are very high on smallish D-men..
It is my impression that compared to NHL draft results, every single prospect evaluator "overranks" forwards. Or put another way, when put to the test, NHL GMs would rather rely on "defense wins championships" and pick defensemen higher than the non-GM consensus. It is the GMs, not the prospect evaluators, who are willing to take less talented defensemen over more talented forwards. It is the same impulse that causes GMs to deal 1st round picks for middling defensemen at the trade deadline.
