    Default Brindley or Nikishin

Wich prospect you want to own ? Brindley score goals and had a great World Junior and Nikishin is a future top D, but his recent meeting with Putin scare me a little bit.

I don’t think that meeting changes anything imo but yes there is concern with all young Russians.

purely on hockey skills, Nikishin by a mile…

I don't think Brindley has elite potential. Mostly a top9 guy and as usual the undersized tag is a question mark.

Nikishin has everything you need, especially in a bangers league... but he could never play in the nhl

Brindley if you wanna make sure you end up with something, Nikishin if you want that high risk high reward dopamine

Brindley undersized. Nikishkin is the choice. He's been awesome. A few years ago no one was sure Kaprizov would come over.

    McDavid/Necas/ Kucherov/Bjorkstrand/Rust/Nugent Hopkins/Cirelli/Zegras/- Letang/Morrissey/Dahlin - Swayman/Saros/Skinner

    Prospects include:
    McTavish/Clarke/Bordeleau
    Dumais/Korchinski/Hutson

Don't worry I'm not going to say anything more than I have to. If that.

I always wonder why some kids drop in the draft; Brindley was one. I like to assume it's because of his height but I also wonder if there's other things that could have played into that too. I dont know.

Both clearly have risks so I am not completely sold on either guy. If I had to gamble on one, it would probably be Nikishin but really, that's not with much confidence as I type this today. If he was playing in the AHL right now, the answer would be Nikishin easily.

yeah… this is not a talent question but availability question.

exactly what you said … if Nikishin was 100% on the way to NHL ( which he would be if he was at AHL) this would be easy call cause talent wise he is way above Brindly atm. But he is in KHL so he may not be available to NHL team for a while or ever

Count me as one who would go for Nikishin here. I'd rather roll the dice and get a potential elite player.

Nikishin's KHL contract expires in 24-25. Obviously if he re-ups after this season, you know where this is headed and can pivot. At that stage, it seems you can likely find an equitable replacement for Brindley.

I would note that there is the potential for significant change on the back end in Carolina in the near future. Skjei, Pesce, and Chatfield are FAs for the Canes after this season. Burns, Orlov, and Slavin are FAs after next season. Is it a coincidence that Carolina brought in Orlov for 2 years at $7.75m that matches the last 2 years of Nikishin's KHL term?
