Package for Rantanen

Having a lot of pieces that I can't keep after this year, I felt like this is a great time to buy Rantanen from a guy who's team needs more pieces surrounding him. Low chance he sells him, but was thinking of offering:

Panarin, Nichushkin, Toffoli for Rantanen

He's a Colorado and NJ fan. He's incredibly weak at LW, so I feel like this could be a decent offer, but is it too much, is there something else I should offer?

Panarin is doing better, but I like being strong on RW as it tends to be a harder position to fill, and Rantanen is younger and I see Colorado being better for longer than NYR as they have some aging pieces.

There's a good chance he says no. Would you do Panarin, Keller, Nichushkin? or Panarin, Larkin, Nichushkin?

I feel like that's the most I could offer.

I would do any of those scenarios if I were you, but look at it from his perspective. Why would he sell the younger, better player if he's not in a window to win. Panarin likely doesn't move the needle for him in his current situation. Throw in his COL bias, and I just don't see you getting it done. GL tho!

Which two players will this allow you to keep who you wouldn't otherwise? That matters.

if you only sell one keeper ( Panarin) and you not in running this year, it does not matter what you add to upgrade keepers. But other than age I’m not sure how much upgrade Rantanen is over Panarin

That's a good point...but it's not like he can't compete, as he won the league last year. He's having a down year with J Hughes + Hischier missing so much time, Tage Thompson playing horribly, Kyrou doing a lot worse, etc. You're right though that I would have to probably throw in a younger piece like Keller to get it done.

SO interesting development. He's thinking on the Panarin, Keller for Rantanen, Zuccarello.

He did comeback with an offer that I would love ya'lls advice on:

Panarin, Keller, Nichushkin, Kopitar for Rantanen, Zibanejad, Zuccarello, Eberle

Zib is very interesting...it would change my keepers from Panarin, Keller, Nichushkin to Rantanen, Zibanejad, (Montour, Toffoli, or Jenner)

Keller was one of my keepers, you can see my keepers in my signature. Zib and Rantanen would become my keepers instead of Keller + Panarin. Nichushkin was a keeper but he's a bit of a wild card and don't mind opening up a keeper spot for a potential prospect next year (as I usually end up with too many solid players to keep them all).

Objective here is to create a competitive team that could be a dynasty. I've built a core that's around 26-29 years old. I believe this would give me 2 better keepers, AND not knowing Nichushkins timetable and the risk of Landeskog, Lehkonen, and Drouin to his role, I see this as accomplishing both (helping me win this year and improve my keepers).

Side Note: He just said while I was thinking about it, he'd throw in a 3rd and 4th round for two of my 5ths.

well way i see it is that you get Rantanen who is younger then Panarin but then you get Zib who is older than Keller. Zib does cover more cats then Keller and is better own in your format but will decline faster.

I would do this trade but i dont think you are gaining a lot, small improvement at best, could be sideway move.

Don't care too much ya'll's opinions on Player B and C, BUT for me, what are ya'lls thoughts?
