As a Dobson owner, points only I'd still trade him straight up for Fox.

Also just a note that Dobber's latest rankings have Dobson and Fox within the 5 points +/- "interchangeable" range of each other. Still, I'd put Fox ahead. And points only, I'd still rather have Dahlin over Dobson too (which is not within the 5 point interchangeable range in the latest rankings).

Fox for me. If Dobson can put up the kind of numbers that he is putting up this year for years to come, well then the answer is "about the same". Until Dobson actually consistently does that, and that IMO is far from a given, Fox is the easy choice for me.

Still Fox for me too.
He's pacing for 70+pts, which would be his 3rd consecutive year.
I don't see how anybody passes on that for much besides Makar & Q.Hughes.

Dobson is an incredible pointer right now... but he's also playing almost 26min/gp.
That's just... a lot. Eventually a team needs to lessen that workload.
Even Josi - who played over 26min in his 3rd & 4th year - settle in to 25min/night.

Dobson is also one year from his RFA summer of 2025.
When that comes, he's looking at $9m or $10m per season.
And that'll lower the ability for NYI to keep talented players around him.
NYI gets crunched next year just by Sorokin moving form $4m to $8.25m.

(That said, NYR has to deal with Shesterkin as UFA in summer 2025... so they'll feel a cap crunch soon enough as well.)

I voted Fox. Dobson has a change in team defensive philosophy and lucky numbers under the hood. Either of those changes, then there's no real debate.
