Did I dodge a bullet having my offer rejected ?
Keep 6 , roster & scoring in signature.
I was looking to shake up my roster and sent out an offer of:
Stutzle, Thomas, B.Tkachuk for M.Tkachuk, Kaprizov, Dahlin.
I liked the thought of adding Dahlin to my D. As well as obtaining a RW/LW for one of my C/LW giving me more positional flexibility.
On first impulse I figured the forwards balanced out. On closer look I realized even though I was gaining a top tier Dman, increasing my goals and assists, I was giving up too many FOW, Hits and Blocks.
OGM countered:
Stutzle, Thomas, B.Tkachuk for M.Tkachuk, Kaprizov, Trouba
I don’t think the counter makes my team better. Did I dodge a bullet in having my offer declined ?

why on god's green Earth would you trade Brady Tkachuk for anyone not named Leon Draisaitl, Nikita Kucherov, Connor McDavid, or Nathan Mackinnon?!?! You don't win championships by being bored with your team and making senseless trades. Especially when it involves your rock.

Your offer wasn't outrageously bad in a keep 6 as the players coming back are legit, but yeah, I think in hindsight you should breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't accepted.

i see it completely opposite to others, while MT has a bit of down year he is still over point a game and he shoots close to as much as his brother, hits go other way of course
as much as i love Stutzle , Dahlin is much better own and Kaprizov vs Thomas is no contest...
so i think your offer was very one sided in your favor and counter was pretty close to fair.
