NHL Trade Deadline Thread 2024

General discussion ahead of the March 8th trade deadline.

Was going to wait a bit longer before creating the thread but with the Lindholm-Kuzmenko trade, things might be getting going. Still lots of time before the final horn, but should be a trickle of rumours and trades moving forward.

Who are you hoping your team targets? Darkhorse predictions for big trades?

my team needs a better third line center to have any chance but not willing to swap a first round pick for it so who knows. Darkhorse is Pitt dealing Guentzel, those albatross contracts they gave all the grey beards gonna start haunting them at some point.

Monahan will go for a 1st. Very versatile and valuable for a contender.

Still not finalized, still details to be worked out, but all indications are that the Montreal Canadiens are trading Sean Monahan to the Winnipeg Jets

You know as well as I do that every player Montreal trades out is worth a first round pick, to Habs fans.

Guess we’re about to find out but I will be shocked if a team gives a first round pick for a PP merchant 3C who can’t drive play and can’t play defence. Even more so if it’s Winnipeg and he can’t even play on PP1

Trade call between the Jets and Canadiens happening soon. Sean Monahan to the Jets for a 1st and a conditional pick. Excellent asset management by the @candiens_MTL and a very good add by @NHLJets @TSNHockey

Monahan to the Jets is pretty much the best-fit out there.
WPG has been playing with Vlad Namestnikov as their C2 for last few months!!!
Props to Monahan on re-juvenizing his career!!

I really hope Detroit doesn't deal Berggren. Perron, Sprong, Kane and Fischer are all UFAs. Sprong and Kane will be due for increases so I'm not sure Detroit will pony up.

There is no guarantee Kasper, Mazur or Danielson are ready for next season either.

I heard chatter of Sprong to EDM…how legit that is time will tell. I’d love sprong on EDM. The guy gets 13 mins a night and is on pace for 50+ points. Imagine him playing beside Draisaitl? It’s be good for fantasy and real Life in my opinion!
