    Default Potential Trade for Bedard

I am in a 12 team keeper league. I have won my league 2 of the last three year and was in first place again through week 10 but now have begun free falling, currently in fourth. I have a strong set of keepers but the GM in second place really wants to go for it to win his first championship since we created our league 12 years ago. To make his final push he is shopping Bedard, he has proposed the following trade.

I would be receiving: Connor Bedard Jacob Markstrom Brett Burns 5th Round Pick

Giving away: Leon Draistail Quinn Hughes Thatcher Demko 1st Round Pick

Is this crazy/way too much to give up? I would do this in a heartbeat if it didnツ稚 include Quinn.

Note, after the trade I would still have Jack Hughes, Tage Thompson, Vince Dunn, Moritz Seider and Jake Oettinger as keepers. I would also have Cole Perfetti and Wyatt Johnson as bubble players. I think then inserting Bedard into the mix would still make me a strong team (minus the first round pick) next year and might have growing pains but ultimately set me up for years to come again.

    Thoughts?

You should include what categories you count and how many keepers your league uses, but on the surface, I'm not doing that deal. I'm not even doing the Drai+Demko+1st for Bedard hypothetical you said you'd accept in a heartbeat.

    Welcome to the forums.

My initial gut reaction is it's too much. I dont know if having all the information that 2014OG mentioned would change my opinion.

I would update your signature (Go to settings in the top right of the screen, then edit signature in the left side of the page) to include your league info (cats, keepers, teams, h2h), your roster, and your positional settings (2C, 2LW, 2RW ect) as it just makes it easier for you and everyone when it comes to answering questions.

Without knowing the positional requirements in your league, but knowing that you're trading 3 keepers for 1 keeper, and back filling Demko and Hughes with Seider and Oettinger it makes more sense.

HOWEVER, I would still not do it. You hope Bedard becomes Draisaitl. You're adding way to much in the secondary pieces here.

it looks like hes setting up for a fleecing raid to me.

While having CB is a very nice thought, he needs to give more if thats his ask. he wants it to win, let him come to you with more, or give up less...for starters remove the DP swap, thats just being greedy.

Ya, it's a pass from me. Way too expensive for Bedard.

    That's a hard pass.

I am not sure this other GM knows how going for it usually works. But typically the GM trying to win now is not the GM gaining a 1st rd pick plus the players to win it all.

If he really wants just Drai, I think you should at least be getting his Bedard and 1st rd pick to start that conversation.

    This.

the deal looks like a win for him, short and long term. Drai is elite and healthy. For a contending team, that alone has to cost Bedard+.
