I think having a pending criminal case against you would take it's toll on your mental health. That would crank up the stress and anxiety factors significantly.

    As added info/reminder:
Hart - as part of the Fenton group - was labeled to have not "engage" in any wrongdoing.
Dube's agent used this same word: engage... in the statement for him.

But it's still possible [___] was "in the room"/witness.

Maybe LawMan has a take on how lawyers use words.

I believe witnessing a crime and not reporting it makes you an accessory after the fact (aiding/abetting) to the crime.

    Yeah... I'm not defending it.
Some people think guys who had statements such as "engaged in no wrongdoing" were cleared.
And thus - players like Hart (& the other Fenton crew) as well as Dube were still candidates for being among the group of 5.
    That's all I was stating.

[The Fenton group included: Jake Bean, Carter Hart, Colton Point, Kale Clague, Jordan Kyrou, Taylor Raddysh.
So if people are doing "process of elimination"... those other guys might be outside of the group... since Fenton said he represented "one".]

Cal Foote and Michael McLeod have also taken leaves of absence from the Devils.

And as for Hart, this quote from Danny Briere is pretty damning:
We are aware of this morning's press reports ... We will respond appropriately when the outcomes of the investigations are made public. The NHL has been very clear that teams should refer all investigation related questions to them.

A question to bring it back to fantasy hockey... how would your league treat a player going on the NHL player assistance program? Would you allow a team to place that player on a league IR? In our league, if a player is suspended, they have to stay on active roster. I am leaning toward allowing the player to go on IR (unless/until they get suspended)...

I'd like to think a player in the assistance program would be IR/IR+ eligible, but I think right now they get NA status (at least on Yahoo).

Right now they are being listed as NA players. Depending on the outcome of this, they might be switched to "Non-Roster IR" so he'd be IR/IR+ eligible, until the league steps in an doles out a suspension. Which would be the same designation what Pinto had during his (Not sure what it was)

In the league's I commish, if a player were to enter the Player Assistance Program, I would make them IR eligible. If they were under investigation/pending charges, I would treat it like they were suspended and no IR status for that.
