Are we ever going to find out what he did in Chicago? I find it hard to be excited about him joining any team without being comfortable that there's no lingering off-ice elephant in the room. I need a little closure to root for the guy at this point.

Probably not, not unless Perry himself wants to release it, and I dont see that happening. Considering the NHL made no barriers for him to return, I can't imagine it's nearly as bad as some want to think.

You can also bet teams did their due diligence on whatever happened before they got to this point.

Everyone is curious, but it's his business. If the NHL cleared his return, they must be satisfied with his process to get here.

NDA's are typically in place during those events, and then to settle what's happened, it sounds like NDA's were further expanded/hammered out for this specific incident. So I don't even think Perry can say what happened to the public.

We might get snippets here and there over years from 'media' but we won't get a detailed answer is my guess. But whatever it is, it sounds like he would only be "let go" by Chicago and not the 31 other teams (because of Chicago's history). So there's that, it's nothing that hasn't happened before with players.

Shades of Evander Kane a couple of years ago.

Also similar yeah. I wasn't as down on Kane since he still had some solid game, despite his concerns.

I HATED the Kassian signing though and in the end it worked out alright.
