Is Merzlikins on the the way out?

So he interviewed the other day and said that he didnt ask for trade but asked for different scenario and that both him and team greed that it will happen..whatever that is.

Today Tarasov is a confirmed starter and they dont have a game tomorrow and did not have one last night. We read anything into this?

ICYMI, The Athletic: Elvis Merzlikins has not requested a trade by #CBJ   , but says there ‘has to be a new scenario’.

Dropped to No. 3, he hasn’t played since Dec.29 vs Toronto.

“I know that I’m not a No. 2 or No. 3, and I won’t be that.” - Merzlikins

Unfortunately, his numbers and play hasn't backed up his opinion.

I still think a Campbell for Merzlikins trade makes too much sense. Very similar contract and term and both need a change in venue.
